Festivals
Living Tree’s festival programs weave Jewish calendar traditions with New England's seasonal pulse, creating meaningful community gatherings for all generations.
For over a decade, our festivals have brought people young and old together to mark time in powerful ways—celebrating Sukkot alongside our fall harvest and Purim amid the spring's flowing maple sap.
We honor ancestral wisdom while crafting fresh, relevant rituals. By gathering on the land to sing, learn, eat, and celebrate the cycles of time together, we offer an alternative to a culture that often values material over meaning.
Our festivals transform ancient traditions into vibrant experiences that connect past to present, creating authentic moments of community, learning, and joy.

Jewish Farm Fellowships
Our Sukkot Village-Building Fellowship (three weeks in September/October) is an immersive journey into Jewish farming, Sukkot traditions, and vibrant community life for young adults. Set against the backdrop of autumn in Vermont, fellows live together in our Common House—just steps from forests, trails, and the farm—sharing meals, stories, and daily rhythms.
Fellows’ time together includes a mix of meaningful work and deep learning led by rabbis, visiting teachers, and community members. Fellows will play a central role in creating our annual Sukkot on the Farm festival—a beloved gathering filled with land-based projects and learning, delicious food, and soulful celebration.
Through the 8 Shields Acorn method, they’ll learn to plan, build, and facilitate a festival that brings people together in powerful ways. From harvesting and preserving food to crafting educational experiences, this fellowship offers a rich opportunity to root in tradition, grow new skills, and connect deeply with land and community.
We also offer a full-year farm fellowship opportunity. Farm fellows become a temporary part of our cohousing, farm, and festival communities to learn about village building, regenerative agriculture, earth-based Judaism, and outdoor education.
